Street Fighter Producer Itching for Capcom vs. Nintendo
If Yoshinori Ono has his way, Ryu and Mario mightiness betroth in an official powerhouse duel someday.
When you remember about IT, the characters from Tough and Nintendo's first-company games aren't all that different. Some sprout fireballs, electrocute for each one other, and love boxing. At a recent 3DS event, producer of Super Tough IV Yoshinori Ono expressed an interest in putting the two in a ring to find unconscious who's best.
When discussing Fantastic Street Fighter Intravenous feeding: 3D Edition, someone asked Ono if Capcom would ever include a Nintendo character to diversify its appeal. Ono not only thought that'd be a great idea, but took it one step further. Ono said he wants to prepar an full Nintendo vs. Capcom game, and thinks it should make up pitched to Nintendo of Japan and Comprehensive Nail Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai.
Straightaway that Superior Street Paladin IV: 3D Edition is a launch title for the Nintendo 3DS, maybe a Nintendo crossover secret plan ISN't that far-fetched. Nintendo already has its own characters battling each other in Dash Bros., and then why not cash in connected the Capcom Vs. craze and give all fighting game and Nintendo fan what they want?
The perfect rivalries are already there. Ryu vs. Mario. Ken vs. Luigi. Pikachu vs. Blanka. Balrog vs. the Punch-Out guy rope. Dhalsim vs. Kirby. Lope de Vega vs. Shy Guy. Akuma vs. Wario. Dan vs. the thing from Game & Vigil.
These are wholly Street Champion characters, but I think Street Fighter vs. Nintendo would make for a great title even without the rest of Capcom's roster. Capcom came out big with its backing of the 3DS from the kickoff, so I wouldn't count out a construct same Capcom vs. Nintendo even though information technology sounds like a game made by unicorn wizards in Awesomeland.
